  • Kimberly Dacres explores the presence of black bodies and cultural identifiers in relation to the space and social environment. The work highlights hair and facial features to explore themes of race, gender, presence, resistance and environmental sustainability. By combining an intersectional voice with adaptive reuse of materials, and investigating how black women and people of color can change the world to be to a softer place; to broaden the perceptions of presence in public space; and, the idea of who is deserving of honorifics and monuments.
