Michelle Lee Rigell

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.

Michelle Lee Rigel’s artistic practice gravitates toward subjects that evoke nostalgia and whimsy. Her current project, the “1000 Can Project” is based on her childhood love of origami. Her goal is to capture the beauty and precision of origami while incorporating the flawed nature of wrinkled papers and used wrappers and labels of some of her favorite childhood American products. Moreso, Cranes are also a symbol of good fortune and longevity in Korean culture. They have been an apt subject matter in her life because rediscovering her passion for painting began as a way to cope with her miscarriages and difficulties with infertility. Rigell is a am a firm believer that art can provide healing, and she hopes her art can provide healing to viewers through sentimentality and humor.
