This series of postcards from Paris represents not only my time there in the fall of 2019 for the L’AiR Arts Residency Program, but also the layers of historic artist movements that exist in the fabric of Paris. As we toured locations from Barbizon to Belleville, we learned of the rich artistic life that existed in and around Paris from the early 1800’s straight through to the present day. This history is one of international intersections, and a broad international community was also represented within our group. The overall effect was a sense of traveling both through time and around the globe.
“I use photography, layering various elements from images I've taken, to explore ideas around memory, nostalgia, and unseen realities.”
