Moth Woman #9
Mia Risberg is a painter based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Born in Sweden, she spent her childhood often moving and living in various countries before settling in the United States as a young adult. She has exhibited at different venues, curated contemporary art exhibits for the Rasa festival, and in 2020 attended an arts residency at VCCA. She is inspired by her love of nature and the people around her. Her work depicts figures, places, and moments in time, and draws from memories, photographs, an interest in ambiguous narratives, and magical realism.
