Marina Reyes Franco is a Curator at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico (MAC). For her curation with SHOWFIELDS Marina focused exclusively on Caribbean artists, with an emphasis on Puerto Rican artists, no matter where they currently live, emphasizing place and signs of belonging that manifest through varied images.
"My main advice is to ask yourself what is important to you? What matters to you? What kind of artist or art making practices would you like to support? Try to connect to artists and art institutions who are as invested as you are in what matters to you. If that results in a museum membership, in being more engaged in your local art scene and collecting art, even better! "
