Dora Somosi’s photographic practice has focused on the landscape and the human impact on the natural world. Her explorations of form and color, and deliberate distortions of traditional photographic conventions, are often used to communicate elements of personal anxiety, political concerns & advocacy, and dismay around the landscape’s fragility. The appreciation of nature, in this body of work, as in previous works, embraces nature for its therapeutic powers. Somosi’s work has been show with NeueHouse, the International Center of Photography (ICP), Photo Place Gallery, BRIC Arts, ICFF, 3Wallsnyc, Art Omi, Tatter Library, Marissa Alperin Studio, and the Aidekman Arts Center. Her photographs have been printed with The Atlantic, Taschen, Cultured, The New York Times, T Magazine, and InteriorDesign
