Rachael's work exists as a visual narrative exploring themes such as nature, witchcraft and fantasy. She creates surreal, psychedelic and often nostalgic compositions which transform recycled imagery into graphic and illustrative designs. These visual signifiers attempt to facilitate a deeper connection with our cosmic selves, the work's kitsch and playful nature also acts to remind us not to take ourselves too seriously in our quest for spiritual utopia.
Exhibitions and Awards: Rachael has a BA(Hons) Conceptual Craft, Manchester School of Art and Design and a Diploma in Foundation Studies Art and Design, Leeds College of Art. This hand cut and assembled paper collage using second hand and recycled imagery is an illustrative design exploring themes of nature, witchcraft and fantasy that is funky and modern, with a slick edge that feels somehow whimsical and otherworldly at the same time.
