Swift is a sculptural fiber artist, redefines her use of portraiture through wool to create soft sculptures that speak to womanhood, arrival, and geographical identity. She incorporates performance, video and archive to create works that become vessels of stories and moments depicting the faces of ancestral mothers.

Swift's work circles within ideas of migration, arrival, and geographical identity, these felted faces explore images and narratives of black women. Through fusing these life-size, and larger, felted portraits with dance, installation, and photography, Swift is am able to shape experiences through storytelling, and articulate self-identities in relation to ancestry and space.
