ERIKA STEARLY

Erika Stearly creates paintings of domestic spaces. She's finds inspiration in vintage home remodeling magazines, the IKEA catalog, photos taken in friends' houses, searching sublet rental ads on Craigslist, and  Instagram. Her mixed media technique combines watercolor and acrylic paint. Using both types of paint together produces a more nuanced range of painterly effects.

SHOWFIELDS MOST INTERESTING

We love this piece because of the combination of abstraction and representation romanticizes these spaces in a way that invites the viewer to construct their own narrative of the scene.
