Exhibitions and Awards: Azuki Furuya studied art at the Tama Art University, in Tokyo Japan and then went on to study in the MFA program at Brooklyn College, New York. She has participated in shows in New York and Japan since 2009.

A generic term for pictures of beautiful women in Japanese art, Bijin-ga literally means, “beautiful person picture”. Furuya has created this work through piling up several different papers and then shaving them down as a unique technique of collage.
