Anka Lavriv is a visual artist born in Ukraine, her heritage and childhood love of black ink lithographs is visible in the clean lines of her intricate drawings. Influenced by mysticism and the occult, her imagery of mysterious women and ethereal botanicals is steeped in ancient symbolism. Anka's main inspirations are slavic mythology, Gothic Lolita subculture and daguerreotype portraits.

Exhibitions and Awards: She has exhibited her work at spring/break, NY, The Brooklyn Arts Council, NY amongst many other spaces in NYC and beyond. Anka is also the co-owner of Black Iris Tattoo in Brooklyn where she translates her elegant illustrations of goddesses and portraits of animals into highly refined permanent art for the skin.
